This page is for music by Chris Auman. That’s me. I’ve been in bands for as long as I can remember. Some of the bands I’ve been in didn’t actually exist. Here are a few that did and/or still do.
Empire Smalls
Empire Smalls is a one-piece turned three-piece band. We make basement recordings. One of us moved to North Carolina, however. As a result, recording has been a challenge. That said, we are working on our second full-length album which will hopefully be released in 2025. Our latest digital EP, Time + Distance is available from our Bandcamp site.
Soft Targets
Soft Targets was a band I formed after the breakup of Reagan National Crash Diet (see below). Various lineups of the band recorded and played live until 2012 when I moved north to Madison, Wisconsin. It was in Mad City where Empire Smalls began as a solo recording project (see above).
Reagan National Crash Diet
Reagan National Crash Diet formed in 2000. We were pretty raw in the beginning but we practiced a lot and played out whenever we could. We got better. Unfortunately, right as we were at our tightest playing and writing our best songs, it all fell apart.
Team Satan
Team Satan was the first band I was in that played in real music venues and released official recordings (well, one anyway). Even so, it was also raw, unpolished, loud, and undisciplined. That’s how we rolled at the Winthrop House in the ’90s though.
Chris Auman Discography
For a complete list of music by Chris Auman check out my discography. Some of these recordings were homemade cassettes, but most enjoyed a somewhat wider release (it’s all relative in the underground). Most are still available.
